This PDC, Stay Tuned for Office 2010 Beta Announcement
Microsoft’s Professional Developers Conference(PDC), which is scheduled to happen this week, is going to have some surprise for Office 2010 fanatics. The most probable announcement can certainly be the Beta announcement of Office 2010, which is appearing to get into place already….not fully yet but will soon be.
Just go to the Office 2010 Beta page and you will see the transition already in place. The Office 2010 beta homepage has changed and it seems the office team is ready to put the actual download option, which isn’t there yet. May be, the folks are waiting for the right time, PDC 09, to announce the Office 2010 beta.
After looking at the new page of Office 2010 Beta, its clear that the Office 2010 will be made available in three variants:
- Office Home & Business, which includes Excel, PowerPoint, Office Web Apps, OneNote, Outlook, and Word
- Office Professional, which includes Access, Excel, Office Web Apps, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Publisher
- Office Professional Plus, which includes Access, Communicator, Excel, Infopath, Office Web Apps, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, and SharePoint Workspace. This option is applicable for Volume customers only.

It’s most likely that the Office 2010 Beta announcement will also cover the beta release of Office Web Apps, one of the most hyped Office assets this year, which is likely to defend Microsoft from Google Docs.
As we promised earlier, we will get you the news right here, whenever the Office Beta becomes available for download, so stay tuned..PDC is about to happen soon.
